With the initial mountain of work attached to launching Monster Meltdown complete we are left to consider the future of this project. Obviously getting the first collection out the door and live is cool, but what comes next. And perhaps the biggest question people have is, “can this be sustained?”
Well fortunately I figured on the pressing need for more content. In fact, it hardly feels like I could write the next collection fast enough. You will hopefully be pleased to know that not only is the next collection in the works, but there are three more in the pipeline. And beyond that I have about 4 more in the initial development process.
The entire idea here is to produce design collections and inspiration sets on a tremendous scale. As such, each set of content is a bit more of a gamble then a single blog post that can be written in a day. These collections take many hours and many days to complete. As such, your feedback is critical to the success of this site. Please take a minute to submit your favorite ideas and vote on the existing ones.
The production schedule
As I mentioned I have three books in the works, here is the current forecast:
This collection will feature web application interfaces from more than 100 applications. In keeping with my normal pattern the sample pool includes many types of applications and many different sizes. Some are small and simple apps, others are robust business apps. If you are working on a project connected to any type of application interface I truly believe you will love this book.
The two topics that follow are both being worked on now, so in many ways it is just a matter of which one will come first. The Responsive Design collection will obviously feature a huge showcase of sites making use of responsive techniques. It is my mission with this collection to make researching solutions to responsive design fun and simple. The complexity of sizing sites to see how things are done make research on this topic a major pain; this collection will fix that. The end result will be 250+ responsive sites exhaustively documented and presented for your responsive inspiration!
This collection will be focused on the niche of non-profit web sites. These projects can be some of the most fulfilling work as they connect to real people and causes that we believe in. Unfortunately though, many times there are tiny budgets and little knowledge of web design in such situations. Fortunately there are some really good examples to draw inspiration from. I have collected nearly 200 such samples here and am documenting them in detail to provide a huge inspiration tool for anyone working in this area.
The future
What the future holds from there is still up for debate. I have several ideas that I am mashing around, but nothing is set in stone. It would be a tremendous help if you simply tell me what you want! Head over here to vote on and submit your favorite ideas.
